Titagarh Rail Systems has signed an agreement with ABB India for propulsion systems and technology transfer for 25kV driverless metro projects. ABB will support design, manufacture, supply, and commissioning of propulsion systems, and transfer TCMS technology (GoA2, upgradable to GoA4). The deal also covers gradual transfer of manufacturing of Converters and Traction Motors for MMRDA's 240 metro coaches across Mumbai Lines 5 and 6, plus 5 years of maintenance. Builds on the 2023 strategic alliance and supports Make in India goals.
Strengthens Titagarh's backward integration and self-reliance in metro tech, boosting local content and positioning it for future metro and export orders.
