United Breweries is adding a new canning line at its existing Nizam Brewery in Telangana to produce premium Kingfisher and Heineken® products. The brewery currently operates at over 90% utilisation on an existing capacity of 0.5 million hectolitres (mhl), and the new line will add 0.4 mhl, expanding capacity by roughly 80%. The project will cost ₹90 crore and is expected to be completed within one year. All regulatory approvals, including the final Building Permit Order dated August 25, 2025, have been secured. The entire investment will be funded through internal accruals, with no debt being raised.
Positive for shareholders — the expansion directly addresses high capacity utilisation and targets the growing premium beer segment, while the internal accruals funding means no dilution or debt burden. Modest scale (₹90 crore) limits the immediate earnings impact but signals confidence in demand growth.
