VA Tech Wabag has bagged a INR 380 Crores Design, Build, Operate (DBO) order from Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB), funded by the World Bank. The contract covers design, engineering, construction and commissioning of Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) with tertiary treatment, biogas generation, solar sludge drying beds, and intermediate pumping stations at four sites in Bommanahalli, Bengaluru. Construction is scheduled to be completed within 30 months, followed by 10 years of Operation and Maintenance (O&M). The project is part of the Karnataka Water Security and Disaster Resilience Program and aims to enable industrial reuse of treated wastewater, reducing freshwater demand.
This is a repeat order from BWSSB, strengthening WABAG's leadership in the water reuse segment and boosting its domestic order book. The 10-year O&M component adds long-term recurring revenue visibility, which is positive for shareholders.
