VA Tech Wabag has won a 'Mega' order (defined as above INR 1,000 Crores) from the Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (CMWSSB) for the Refurbishment, Finance, Operate, Maintain and Transfer (RFOMT) of a 45 MLD Tertiary Treatment Reverse Osmosis (TTRO) plant at Kodungaiyur, Chennai, under a Public-Private Partnership model. WABAG will refurbish and upgrade the existing facility to its full 45 MLD capacity within 18 months, and then operate and maintain it for 18.5 years, supplying treated wastewater to industrial consumers in the Manali–Ennore and Manali–Minjur corridors. This adds to WABAG's existing 45 MLD Koyambedu TTRO plant in Chennai and a 40 MLD plant in Ghaziabad, further strengthening its leadership in water reuse and recycling.
This is a significant order win that adds a long-tenure (18.5 years O&M) revenue stream alongside a sizeable upfront refurbishment contract, likely boosting order book visibility. It reinforces WABAG's dominance in India's water reuse segment and is a positive signal for revenue and earnings stability over the long term.
