Vraj Iron and Steel's board has approved setting up a new Rolling Mill at its Bilaspur unit to manufacture TMT bars with an installed capacity of 1,50,000 tons per annum. The project is estimated to cost Rs. 35 Crores (plus GST) and is expected to be completed in Financial Year 2026-27. The company currently has a capacity of 54,000 TPA at its Raipur plant, operating at 42.22% utilization. The expansion will be funded through internal accruals and, if needed, an unsecured loan of up to Rs. 10 Crores from promoters at 7.5% annual interest. The new mill will more than triple the company's TMT bar capacity and help strengthen its position in the finished steel segment.
This capacity addition signals the company's growth ambitions in the higher-margin TMT bar segment and could boost future revenue and profitability once commissioned in FY27. For investors, the near-term impact is limited as the project is yet to be executed, but successful commissioning could meaningfully expand earnings capacity by FY27-28.
