On the reaction day the stock moved 0.4 pts less than Nifty Microcap 250 and 0.2 pts less than its Civil Construction peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Welspun Enterprises signed an agreement to sell its full stake in subsidiary WASPPL, operator of the Aunta-Simaria Ganga Bridge highway project in Bihar under HAM with NHAI. Buyer is BIIF Infrastructure II (backed by Build India Infrastructure Fund). Deal values WASPPL at about Rs 1,000 crore EV. WASPPL contributed 5.44% of consolidated income (Rs 196.77 crore) in FY26. Closing expected by September 30, 2026, subject to NHAI and lender approvals. Not a related party transaction. The exit is part of WEL's asset-light capital recycling strategy.
Positive for shareholders. Unlocks about Rs 1,000 crore for reinvestment while WEL keeps its road project development and bidding capability.
