Western Carriers (India) has secured a 15-year contract to develop and operate a General Cargo Terminal at the Kolkata Dock System under Syamaprasad Mookerjee Port Authority. The terminal, already operational, will handle containers and other cargo. Initial civil infrastructure investment estimated at about Rs 13.68 crore, subject to revision. The company plans to enhance cargo handling capacity and expand service offerings, strengthening its presence in Eastern India.
Positive: expands WCIL logistics infrastructure and long-term revenue visibility in Eastern India, though initial capex is modest.
