Wipro, through its subsidiaries, has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100% of Harman Connected Services Inc. and its subsidiaries (collectively 'DTS') from Harman International Industries, Inc. The deal is worth up to US$375 million (including earn-outs) and will be paid in cash. DTS is a US-headquartered Engineering, R&D and IT services provider with over 5,600 employees across 14 countries and reported revenues of about US$314 million in calendar year 2024. The acquisition will strengthen Wipro's ER&D and digital engineering capabilities across industrial, aerospace, healthcare, and consumer sectors. The transaction is expected to close by December 31, 2025, subject to anti-trust and other regulatory approvals.
This is a strategic, bolt-on acquisition in Wipro's core IT and engineering services space, likely to boost its ER&D revenue and add capabilities in AI-powered digital engineering. It is not a related-party deal, so the impact is purely strategic. Short-term, the stock may react to deal valuation and integration risks; long-term, it could support growth in Wipro's higher-value services portfolio.
