Zydus Sunshine Lifesciences, a joint venture between Zydus Lifesciences and Sunshine Healthcare, has signed an agreement with Sri Lanka's Board of Investment to set up a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in the BOI zone at Horana, Sri Lanka. The project involves a phased investment of over USD 20 million on a four-acre site, with commercial operations expected to start in 2028 subject to approvals. The first phase will manufacture oral solid dosage forms for the Sri Lankan market.
Strengthens Zydus's international presence, though commercial output is about two years away, limiting near-term earnings impact.
