Zydus launched Anyra, India's first indigenously developed Aflibercept 2 mg biosimilar, for treating eye conditions including wet Age-related Macular Degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and macular edema. Zydus signed licensing agreements with Regeneron and Bayer. The drug targets over 10 million patients in India affected by these retinal conditions. Zydus claims India's largest biosimilar portfolio with over 13 products developed domestically.
Positive for Zydus as it expands biosimilar portfolio, strengthens ophthalmic franchise, and taps large underserved patient pool in India.
