Zydus group's biologics CDMO Zylidac Bio has partnered with Prolific Machines to scale Prolific's optogenetics-enabled biologics manufacturing platform to GMP production. The partnership begins with a 50-liter tech transfer at Zylidac's 83,000 sq ft Emeryville facility, then scales to 250-liter and commercial GMP manufacturing. Prolific's light-controlled cell line tech achieved 21 g/L productivity in a 15-day CHO run for monoclonal antibodies, with up to 3x titer gains for complex proteins. The deal creates an end-to-end pathway from early development to commercial supply using Zylidac's existing bioreactors.
