Across all 78,111 filing days the typical move is 1.6%. Results sit at the top of that list and stake changes at the bottom: results moved a price more than 5% once in every 6 filings, stake changes once in every 18.

One detail the curves give away: the small humps sitting on 5%, 10% and 20% are the daily price limits, the most the exchange lets a price move in one day. 2,518 of these moves stopped within a tenth of a point of one of them.

The move is the closing price on the first day the market could trade the filing, against the closing price before it. Typical means the middle filing of that kind: half moved more, half moved less. One count per company, kind and day, NSE-listed companies only. It is a record of what happened, not a view on any stock.

How it is measured

Source: company filings (NSE & BSE), 10 Apr 2026 to 6 Oct 2026. 78,111 filing days across 8 kinds of filing. The move is the closing price on the first day the market could trade the filing, against the closing price before it, from daily NSE closes. Typical = the middle filing of that kind.

One count per company, kind and day; a company filing two kinds on one day counts in both. NSE-listed companies only (44,932 filing days had no NSE closing price), 1 move beyond 40% dropped as a data fault and 949 bigger than 12% either way sit outside the drawn curve.
