What this company actually does

Read out of the prospectus’s business section, stripped of its marketing language.

A-One Steels India Limited is a backward/vertically integrated steel manufacturer based in southern India that makes sponge iron, MS billets, TMT bars, HR coils, CR coils, HR (MS) pipes, CR pipes, galvanized tubes and pipes, plus industrial products (met coke, silicon manganese, ferro silicon). It sells to construction, infrastructure and industrial customers across India through distributors, direct retail dealers and institutional buyers. Operations began in 2013 and span six manufacturing units across Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.

How it earns

Revenue comes mainly from selling manufactured steel products (TMT bars, pipes & tubes, sponge iron) plus trading sales of raw materials/intermediates (coal, iron ore, scrap, MS billets) and industrial products (met coke, ferro alloys); surplus intermediate output not used captively is sold on the open market.

Who buys

FY2026 customer mix: 1,246 direct retail dealers (29.77% of revenue), 380 other intermediaries selling semi-finished goods like MS billets, HR/CR coils, sponge iron (31.77%), 32 authorised distributors (14.64%), 57 institutional customers (5.60%), plus other trading sales of raw materials/intermediates (18.22%). Named institutional customers include Sobha Limited, Bhavya Constructions, SPR Constructions, PLR Projects, Casa Grande Garden City Builders, Zetwerk Manufacturing Businesses, Amara Raja Infra, and NCC Limited. Geographic concentration: Karnataka 54.86%, Andhra Pradesh 11.35%, Tamil Nadu 7.21%, Maharashtra 6.01%, Telangana 4.39%, others 16.18% of FY2026 revenue.

What it says sets it apart

  • Backward-integrated value chain from sponge iron through MS billets, HR/CR coils to finished steel (TMT bars, pipes, galvanized tubes), with FY2026 captive consumption of MS billets at 98.89% and sponge iron at 82.35% of production.
  • Facilities at Bellary and Koppal sit within 100 km of the Bellary-Koppal iron ore mineral belt and within ~450 km of Krishnapatnam, Ennore, New Mangalore and Goa-Mormugao ports, lowering inbound raw-material freight.
  • Green energy mix of ~83% to ~89.5% of power consumption over the last three Fiscals (solar/wind 57.19% in FY2026 plus WHRB/non-captive), versus ~0-26.2% for peers; TMT bars at Gauribidanur/Hindupur and HR coil/pipes at Bellary I are CII GreenPro-certified, and 1,80,351 tonnes of FY2026 TMT bars received a Green Steel Certificate (5-star, 0.67 t-CO2e/tfs).
  • Manufacturing flexibility via induction furnace and electric-arc-furnace routes (allowing sponge iron, scrap mix or 100% recycled inputs) plus German Thermex Technology for TMT bars giving seismic-resistant grades; six plants total 17,33,100 MTPA installed capacity (crude steel 5,70,000 MTPA at 89.14% utilisation in FY2026).
  • Diversified distribution: 32 authorised distributors, 1,246 direct retail dealers (concentrated in Karnataka with 847 dealers) and long-term distributor arrangements of up to 5 years, with sales & marketing team of 63 employees handling direct institutional deals.
