What this company actually does

Read out of the prospectus’s business section, stripped of its marketing language.

German Green Steel & Power Limited is a vertically integrated iron and steel manufacturer based in Gujarat, India, that produces TMT (Thermo-Mechanically Treated) bars as its main product, along with MS Billets and Sponge Iron. Its output is sold to construction-related customers — distributors, dealers, and direct institutional buyers (corporates in roadways, engineering, thermal plants and real estate) — primarily in Gujarat, through two manufacturing facilities: the vertically integrated Samakhiyali Facility and the Viramgam Facility operated through its Material Subsidiary, German TMT Private Limited. The company also recycles steel scrap, which is a primary raw material, and has begun offering value-added items such as cut-and-bend bars and epoxy-coated TMT bars.

How it earns

It earns by manufacturing and selling TMT bars (most of its output) and, after meeting captive consumption needs, by selling surplus MS Billets and Sponge Iron in the open market; it is also moving into contract manufacturing (e.g., a Manufacturing Partner Agreement with JSW One Distribution Limited for products to be sold under JODL's brand) and value-added products like cut-and-bend and epoxy-coated TMT bars.

Who buys

Three channels. (i) Distributors — 12 active as at March 31, 2026, contributing 37.57% of FY2026 revenue from operations (₹63,075.68 lakhs ≈ ₹630.76 crore). (ii) Dealers — 148 (includes dealers to whom products were sold in the year), contributing 20.89% (₹35,066.02 lakhs ≈ ₹350.66 crore). (iii) Direct institutional customers (corporates in roadways, engineering services, thermal plants, real estate, etc.) — 343, contributing 41.53% (₹69,733.21 lakhs ≈ ₹697.33 crore). Concentration: 7 of the top 10 customers have relationships of over three years. No long-term supply contracts — business runs on purchase orders. Geography is highly concentrated: Gujarat accounted for 97.74% of FY2026 revenue (₹1,64,111.82 lakhs ≈ ₹1,641.12 crore).

Scale

Two manufacturing facilities in Gujarat. Samakhiyali Facility on ~5,74,956 sq. mtrs. of owned land in Kutch district (vertically integrated); Viramgam Facility on ~57,527 sq. mtrs. (~38,624 sq. mtrs. leased + ~18,903 sq. mtrs. owned) in Ahmedabad district. Combined installed capacity as of March 31, 2026: Sponge Iron 66,000 MTPA, MS Billets 3,57,060 MTPA, TMT Bars 3,01,950 MTPA, with FY2026 utilisation of 95.21%, 79.44% and 87.79% respectively. Customer base of 12 distributors, 148 dealers and 343 direct institutional customers as at March 31, 2026. Revenue FY2026 = ₹1,67,898.17 lakhs ≈ ₹1,678.98 crore (all figures converted from lakhs; 1 crore = 100 lakhs).

What it says sets it apart

  • Vertically integrated production at the Samakhiyali Facility, where Sponge Iron → MS Billets → TMT Bars are all made on one campus, reducing dependence on outside suppliers for intermediate inputs.
  • Captive power of 20 MW at Samakhiyali (16 MW coal-based + 4 MW waste heat recovery) plus hybrid wind-solar plants; as of March 31, 2026, approximately 75.44% of energy requirements were met internally or via renewables.
  • Strategic proximity to Gujarat ports — Samakhiyali is approximately 105 km from Mundra and 50 km from Kandla — easing raw material imports (including scrap).
  • Green Steel certification from the National Institute of Secondary Steel Technology, Mandi Gobindgarh — 4-star rating for the Company and the highest 5-star rating for German TMT Pvt Ltd subsidiary; plus ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015 certifications.
  • Manufacturing Partner Agreement with JSW One Distribution Limited (JODL) effective April 25, 2025 for 3 years, giving access to contract manufacturing under JODL's brand and a new growth lever beyond Gujarat.
