Bajaj Finserv, along with its promoter Bajaj Holdings & Investment Ltd and promoter group entity Jamnalal Sons Pvt Ltd, is acquiring the 26% equity stake held by Allianz SE in its two insurance subsidiaries — Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance. IRDAI has now approved this transfer of shares, subject to compliance with applicable regulations. This follows earlier communications on 17 March 2025 and 21 May 2025 regarding the same transaction. Once completed, the Bajaj group will hold 100% in both insurance joint ventures, ending the two-decade partnership with Allianz.
Positive for Bajaj Finserv shareholders as the company will gain full control and 100% economics from its two large insurance businesses, simplifying the group structure and removing minority partner constraints on future strategy and capital decisions.
