Bank of Baroda has received RBI approval to set up a Section 8 (non-profit) company called Indian Digital Payment Intelligence Corporation (IDPIC) to build a Digital Payments Intelligence Platform. The government exempted BoB from the 30 percent shareholding cap under the Banking Regulation Act, allowing it to hold more than 30 percent in IDPIC until October 16, 2026.
Strategic push into digital payments infrastructure via a non-profit; limited near-term financial impact but strengthens long-term digital positioning.
