On the reaction day the stock moved 2.2 pts more than Nifty Midcap 150 and 1.7 pts more than its Industrial Manufacturing peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

CSL's board approved a 50:50 joint venture with Drydocks World Dubai to own, operate and expand its Kochi ship repair facility. Built for 970 crore rupees, the facility earned 207.33 crore rupees, or 4.81% of FY26 revenue. It will be transferred for at least 1,800 crore rupees, with CSL receiving half in cash and half in JV shares. Government, port and shareholder approvals are pending; completion is targeted by March 2027.
Cash and expertise are positive, but the deal gives CSL only 50% ownership and two of five board seats in a business contributing 4.81% of revenue.
