HDFC Bank Board appointed Mr. Rajiv Kumar, a former IAS officer and ex-Finance Secretary, as Part-time Chairman and Additional Independent Director. Independent Director term is 4 years from June 30, 2026. Part-time Chairman term is 3 years, subject to RBI approval. Mr. Kumar led India's banking sector clean-up from 2017-2020, including the 4R strategy, transparent NPA recognition, and over ₹3 lakh crore PSU bank recapitalisation. He also served as the 25th Chief Election Commissioner. Shareholder approval will be sought at the AGM on August 5, 2026.
