On the reaction day the stock moved 0.5 pts more than Nifty 100 and 0.8 pts more than its Private Sector Bank peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
HDFC Bank received RBI approval to hold up to 9.50 percent aggregate stake in IndusInd Bank, valid till December 14, 2026. The bank itself does not intend to invest in IndusInd, but the cap was needed because its group entities (HDFC Mutual Fund, HDFC Life, HDFC ERGO, HDFC Pension and HDFC Securities) already hold more than the 5 percent aggregate limit under new RBI rules. Application was filed on October 24, 2025. Investments are in the normal course of business for these entities.
Routine regulatory compliance; no fresh investment by HDFC Bank itself. Group entities continue existing IndusInd holdings within new 9.50 percent cap.
