Hyundai Motor India inaugurated its Pune plant on Oct 14, 2026, with phased investment of up to Rs 11,000 crore. Current annual capacity is 170,000 units, set to scale to 320,000 units by 2030. Combined with Chennai, total capacity will reach 1.14 million units. The plant includes an engine shop producing 150,000 engines yearly. 55 supplier partners have invested Rs 4,600 crore, creating 18,000 jobs in Maharashtra. Marks 30 years in India, nearly 10 million domestic sales, and 4 million cumulative exports.
Positive for long-term growth, capacity and export expansion. Large capex may pressure near-term margins but supports future revenue.
