Indo Tech Transformers Ltd's Board has approved an additional CAPEX of INR 35 Crores to raise plant capacity to 25,000 MVA, with completion targeted by March 2029. The company currently operates at 14,000 MVA with 80-90% capacity utilisation. This new approval is part of a phased expansion: INR 75 Crores (approved Dec 2024 for 16,000 MVA) and INR 25 Crores (approved Nov 2025 for 20,000 MVA) are already in progress. Total planned investment across all phases stands at INR 135 Crores, to be funded via internal accruals and bank term loans.
The capacity expansion signals strong demand outlook for transformers, but execution risk exists given the long timeline through FY2029. The existing high utilisation rate (80-90%) justifies the expansion. No immediate share price impact expected as this is a multi-year capex programme.
