Kernex Microsystems, through a consortium with VRRC (Kernex holds 60% share), has received Letters of Acceptance from Southern Railways, Chennai for two Kavach (Train Collision Avoidance System) projects. The first order covers MAS-GDR, MAS-AJJ, and AJJ-RU sections of the Chennai Division worth Rs. 173.11 crores (incl. GST), to be completed in 730 days. The second order covers the Arakkonam-Jolarpettai section with tower and 48 Fiber OFC backbone network worth Rs. 137.92 crores (incl. GST), to be completed in 540 days. The combined bid value is Rs. 311.03 crores, meaning Kernex's share is approximately Rs. 186.62 crores. These are domestic government orders from Indian Railways for the national Kavach safety system rollout.
This is a significant order win for Kernex, materially boosting its order book and providing revenue visibility over 1.5-2 years. For a small-cap company, an order of this size (Kernex's share ~Rs 187 crores) is likely to be a strong positive catalyst, likely lifting the stock on announcement. It reinforces Kernex's position in the Indian Railways Kavach safety system segment.
