The Government of India has appointed Shri R Doraiswamy as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director (CEO & MD) of LIC with effect from July 14, 2025. He will hold the position for three years or until he turns 62 in August 2028, whichever comes first. Doraiswamy was already serving as a Managing Director of LIC and has now been elevated to the top role. He is a direct recruit officer with over 39 years of experience across marketing, technology, operations and academics. Consequently, Shri Sat Pal Bhanoo, who was holding the CEO & MD's financial and administrative powers, has relinquished those functions from the same date.
