Piramal Finance will sell its entire 14.72% equity stake in Shriram Life Insurance Company to Sanlam Emerging Markets (Mauritius) for Rs 600 crores. The deal is expected to close by 31 March 2026, subject to IRDAI and other regulatory approvals. SLIC contributed only Rs 12.68 crore (0.12 percent of FY25 revenue) as dividend, making it a non-core holding. The company said the sale is part of its strategy to monetise non-core assets, with proceeds to strengthen its balance sheet.
Positive for balance sheet; non-core asset monetisation in line with stated strategy. Minimal revenue impact given small contribution.
