Power Finance Corporation (PFC) board approved a proposal to seek shareholder approval for raising the borrowing limit to Rs 9,00,000 crore (Nine Lakh Crore) in Indian Rupee and USD 25 Billion equivalent in foreign currency. Also approved mortgaging company assets to secure these borrowings. Approval sought under Section 180 of Companies Act 2013. Meeting held on July 23, 2026.
Expanded borrowing capacity could support larger lending to the power sector; remains subject to shareholder approval.
