Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has received a Letter of Acceptance from East Coast Railway for setting up a Wagon POH (Periodic Overhaul) Workshop with a capacity of 200 wagons at Kantabanji. The project cost is approximately Rs. 201.23 crores (excluding GST), and RVNL was the sole bidder. The work must be completed within 18 months. The order is domestic and not a related party transaction, with no promoter group interest in the awarding entity. East Coast Railway is part of Indian Railways, a Government of India undertaking.
This is a modest new order win that adds to RVNL's order book in its core railway infrastructure business. The Rs. 201 crore contract over 18 months is incremental and positive, but not large enough on its own to materially move the stock. It reinforces RVNL's role as a key execution arm for Indian Railways projects.
