Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a Letter of Award from NMDC Limited for the construction of Residential Towers at Iron Ore Deposit-5 in Bacheli, Chhattisgarh. The project is valued at Rs. 796.80 Crore inclusive of all taxes. The work is to be completed within 34 months under general contract conditions. The order has been awarded by a domestic government entity (NMDC) and is in the normal course of RVNL's business. There is no promoter group interest in NMDC, and the contract is not a related party transaction.
This is a sizeable new order worth nearly Rs. 797 Crore that adds to RVNL's order book, providing revenue visibility over the next ~3 years. Positive for shareholders as it demonstrates continued order inflow from government PSUs, though NMDC is a mining company rather than a core railway client.
