On the reaction day the stock moved 2.4 pts less than Nifty Midcap 150 and 1.5 pts less than its Civil Construction peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has received a Letter of Acceptance from Central Railway for design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 220/132/55 KV traction substations, sectioning posts and sub-sectioning posts in the 2x25 KV traction system on the Daund-Solapur section of Central Railway, on EPC mode. The contract is valued at approximately Rs. 270.22 crore (including taxes) and is to be executed within 24 months. The order has been awarded by a domestic government entity (Central Railway, part of Indian Railways) and there is no related party interest. This is a routine infrastructure order in the normal course of RVNL's business.
This is a moderate-sized new order for RVNL, adding about Rs. 270 crore to its order book. While the value is not large enough to materially shift the stock, it reinforces RVNL's steady order inflow from Indian Railways and supports execution visibility over the next two years.
