On the reaction day the stock moved 0.5 pts less than Nifty Midcap 150 and in line with its Civil Construction peers, over the same two closes: a difference in percentage points, not a measure of what the filing did.
Minute windows have no benchmark: there is no intraday index history to compare against.
Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has emerged as the Lowest Bidder (L1) for a contract from Southern Railway. The work involves design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of traction sub stations (Scott-connected) along with power quality compensating equipment, switching posts, SCADA and automatic fault locators on the Jolarpettai Jn.–Salem Jn. section of Salem Division, under the Mission 3000MT Loading Target. The contract is valued at approximately Rs 145.35 crore (including taxes) and is to be executed within 540 days. The order is domestic, awarded by a government railway entity, and is not a related party transaction. It falls within the normal course of business for RVNL.
This is a modest order win that adds to RVNL's order pipeline but is unlikely to materially move the stock given its size relative to the company's overall revenue and order book. It reinforces RVNL's steady project flow from Indian Railways.
