Shoppers Stop has invested Rs. 20 Crores in its wholly-owned subsidiary Global SS Beauty Brands Limited (GSSBBL) by subscribing to 2000 preference shares (NOCPS) as part of a rights issue. This is the first tranche of a previously approved investment of up to Rs. 40 Crores. GSSBBL is engaged in wholesale and retail distribution of beauty products and specialty beauty stores. The total investment in preference share capital of GSSBBL now stands at Rs. 125 Crores. The subsidiary reported turnover of Rs. 379.75 Crores in FY 2025-26, growing from Rs. 95.73 Crores in FY 2023-24. The company maintains 100% ownership control of GSSBBL.
This investment signals continued focus on expanding the beauty retail business within the Shoppers Stop group. While it involves a related party transaction, no separate audit committee approval is required as GSSBBL remains a wholly-owned subsidiary. The capital infusion will support GSSBBL's expansion plans and working capital needs.
