Counted: 3,24,994 announcements from 5,570 companies, October 2025 to September 2026. An announcement filed on both exchanges is counted once.

What this is: a count of what companies announce, sorted by kind. What it is not: a measure of how much each one matters. One results filing can matter more than a hundred newspaper ads.

How it is measured

What is counted: every announcement a listed company sent to the stock exchanges (NSE and BSE) from October 2025 to September 2026, by the date the exchange stamped on it, India time. Each announcement is sorted into one of 15 kinds by MarketPing's AI reader, which reads the filing itself; the 15 kinds are grouped into seven plain groups for the picture, and the full 15-way split is in the post. A company often files the same announcement on both exchanges.

Most such pairs are already stored once; the rest are counted once here: a filing on NSE is left out when the same company filed on BSE within 30 minutes either side (the same rule as MarketPing's filing-clock chart; 25,720 left out this way). Also left out: 17,529 news articles (they are not company announcements), 1,889 filings our reader could not sort, and 19,707 filings from 655 issuers that are not in our company list (mostly property and infrastructure trusts, and a few small companies), so that every counted announcement belongs to one of the 5,570 companies. The per-100 figures are rounded so they add up to exactly 100: routine paperwork is rounded the plain way (30.27% is 30), and the other six groups share the rest by largest remainder, so each is within 1 of its true share.

Of the routine paperwork, 67% is one of three things: a copy of a newspaper advertisement (29,338), a certificate from the company's share registrar (18,127), or a notice that directors and staff may not trade the shares for a while, usually before results (18,823). The kinds come from an AI reader, so a filing can sit in a neighbouring kind; the picture counts announcements, not how much each one matters, and it names no company.
