Just 104 companies name 2029. Then 276 name 2030.
Each row is one year ahead. Bar length is how many companies named it. 2030 draws 276 companies, 2029 only 104.

What the chart shows
839 listed companies have put a year on a promise in their own investor slides. 14,421 promises carry a year. The year they reach for most often is a round one.

What stands out
- 2029 is the quietest year on the road: 104 companies.
- 2030 is the crowd: 276 companies and 3,916 promises.
- Round decade years take 30% of all dated promises (4,357 of 14,421).
- 8 years between 2026 and 2050 were named by nobody.
- 541 promises point at 2040 or later.
What this number is, and is not
- It is a count of lines on companies' own presentation slides, grouped by the year each line points at. 9,607 lines of 24,028 are left out: 2,901 give no time, 6,117 give a period and not a year, 41 are long sentences with several dates, 546 point at a year already gone, 2 past 2060. It is not a scorecard. We are not saying any promise was kept, missed, realistic or worth believing, and no company is named.
How it is measured
Counted from 24,028 lines about the future in 4,050 investor presentations filed between Apr 2025 and Aug 2026: every target, goal, plan, commitment or promise a company put on its own slide. The year comes from the company's own wording of the time frame, read as the LATEST year the phrase names, so "FY 2025 to FY 2028" counts as 2028. 9,607 lines are left out: 2,901 name no time at all, 6,117 name a period and not a year (such as "ongoing", "next 5 years", "medium term"), 41 are long sentences carrying several dates, 546 point at a year already gone and 2 at a year past 2060. A company counts once per year however many times it says it; a promise counts every time it appears on a slide, so one company restating a target in four quarterly presentations adds four promises and one company.
This is a count of what companies wrote. Nothing here says whether any promise was kept, was realistic or should be believed, and no company is named.
