A low price does not mean a cheap company. A company can split one share into ten, and nothing about the business changes. The price of one share tells you nothing about the company's size or quality.

How it is measured

Price is each company's latest closing price for one share (its NSE price where it trades on NSE, otherwise BSE), inside the 10 trading days to 6 Oct 2026. 5,706 active listed companies are included, 2,199 of them traded on BSE only. The typical (middle) price is ₹86.00: half of the companies cost less for one share, half cost more. The price of one share says nothing about how big, good or cheap a company is: a company can split one share into ten and the business stays the same.
