What this is: each company's closing share price on 6 Oct 2026 against the price set in its IPO, adjusted for share splits and bonus shares. What it is not: a forecast or advice. Dividends are not counted, and someone who sold on the first trading day got a different result.
Small-company (SME) IPOs are a separate market and are not counted here.
How it is measured
Every big-company (main-board) IPO whose shares started trading in 2025: 104. For each, the closing share price on 6 October 2026 (the latest day for which every closing price has arrived) is compared with the IPO price, the final price set in the IPO. Prices are adjusted for share splits and bonus shares, so a company that split its shares is compared like for like (1 such company). Closing prices are from NSE; a company that trades only on BSE is priced from BSE (1).
Dividends are not counted: this is the share price only. Discounts some IPOs give employees or small investors are not counted either. Every one of them could be measured.
Left out: 2 property or road trusts, which sell trust units rather than company shares. Small-company (SME) IPOs are a separate market and are not counted (270 in 2025). The typical IPO is the middle one when all 104 are lined up from biggest rise to biggest fall.
This says where prices stand on one day. It is not a forecast and says nothing about any company.
